BRØNNØYSUND’S ARCTIC ARCHIPELAGO

Description

SOUNDS, BRIDGES, & ISLANDS!
Slide out onto the cobalt blue waters of Brønn Sound, otherwise know as ‘Mainstreet Brønnøysund’. We’re drawn to the landmark Brønnøy bridge connecting the archipelago with mainland Norway as our kayaks drift out onto the famous Torg Fjord.

The glittering waters of Torg fjord beacon us as our kayaks glide over the rippling water. Exploring this intricate maze of islands, bobbing in and out of picturesque bays, inlets, and coves before landing on a divine beach where we enjoy a homemade picnic lunch on a private island. Then slipping back on the water our exploration continues until we find our way back to our staging site.

Why take this tour?

Jonathan’s philosophy: “Spending time outdoors having fun, doing physical exercise with good people, good food and tasty refreshments”. Every trip I design, and lead have this tenet!

Brønnøysund, North Norway’s southern most city is a quaint coastal township that once was a major trading center on the sailing route from Bergen to the Lofoten Islands. Perched on an intricate maze of islands speckled with illimitable bays, inlets, sounds, and beaches. This Arctic Archipelago hosts significant historical landmarks dating back to when the Vikings ruled the land.

Brønnøysund, with its proud coastal heritage is positioned at the confluence of the Norwegian Sea and North Atlantic Ocean; is the gateway to the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Vega Islands & the Helgeland archipelago. As well as being home to the famous landmark, Torghatten a famous pierced mountain; as the legends say, was formed during a troll’s love saga that ended with the sun rising and turning them all into stone!

Brønnøysund, the portal to North Norway is a monumental playground for outdoor adventures. Nestled between the famous Vega Islands and the Seven Sister Mountains, Brønnøysund comes to life on an inspirational Kayak More Tomorrow Day Tour.
