Happy New Year 2021

Bonne Année – Happy New Year! 2021 brings us renewed hope that the world will slowly and eventually return to a state of normalcy. 2020 has been an exceptional year in many ways, and our industry has nearly collapsed due to the travel stop caused by the worldwide pandemic. We at Kayak More Tomorrow, have struggled through; and as we pick up the pieces and look towards the coming 2021 season, here are a few things that have struck me during this challenging year.

As the world came to a full stop this spring, we faced an uphill battle to restructure our bookings for 2020. Fortunately, we were able to offer all our guests new dates in 2021 and all but one was able to reschedule their trip for this year; we refunded fully the trip that was unable to be rescheduled. This shake-up of our industry has resulted in consumers looking for more flexibility and solid refund policies, this has become known as ‘Book with Confidence’; this is something that only a very few select operators can truly offer.

This brings me to my second point. Here is a quote that I have heard in 2020, “you need to get the right people on the bus” this is something that applies very well to our industry. It has always been essential to choose the right outfitter, but now that our industry has suffered a long break in receiving any income, most are not just struggling they are desperate and on the edge of collapsing for good. Hopefully, most will do the right thing and give up, but I fear that they will struggle and damage the reputation of the outdoor adventure tour industry. Therefore, it is now more than ever crucial for customers to get the right people on the bus when choosing an outfitter or tour company. In Norway, there are really no options other than Kayak More Tomorrow, as most others cannot and will not deliver quality.

Third, this year has presented us with the perfect opportunity to develop and expand our operations. We have taken full advantage of the break-in operations to develop a new market and a new fraction of watersports. Surf Morocco.Fun is a Kayak More Tomorrow company. And as the name suggests it specializes in surf trips to Morocco. We have taken our 30 plus years of experience in the outdoor adventure world and are shaking up the world of surf trips and holidays in all respects. 2021 is our inaugural year in Africa; we are hoping that when the grip of the pandemic loosens people will be itching to get back outside and adventure. So, when planning your next trip make sure that you get the right outfitter on your bus before you go.

As the sun sets on 2020 and rises on 2021, I find myself holding great expectations and optimism for the years to come. Kayak More Tomorrow and Surf Morocco.Fun are benchmark adventure companies for the post-Covid world.

We are looking forward to our upcoming adventures with you in 2021 and in the years to come!

SEA KAYAK THROUGH THE HEART OF THE LOFOTEN ISLANDS

On our Sea Kayak through the Heart of the Lofoten Islands trip, you’ll kayak from the ‘Inside to the Outside’ of this remarkable chain of islands. Through indigo-blue fjords cutting between jagged peaks, stopping at white sand beaches and historic, colorful hamlets; at the end of each paddling day, you’ll stay in “rorbus”, traditional fishermen’s lodges with time to explore these charming villages and sample the local cuisine. Great kayaking, spectacular scenery and Norway’s seafaring culture make the Lofoten Islands one of the world’s great paddling trips.

Our discovery begins in the Lofoten’s most iconic fishing village, Henningsvær, situated on the islands of Heimøya and Hellandsøya which jut outward from the tip of Austvåg Island onto the might West Fjord; from here we cross two sounds, Gimsøy Sound, and the Napp Sound, before we cruise out onto the ‘Outside’ (North Atlantic) of the Lofoten Islands. The weather and sea state in the Lofoten Islands make it impossible to accurately give a daily paddling mileage. Therefore, we have approximated the daily paddling duration in the day-by-day itinerary.
